The Extender EF 2x III features nine optical elements in five groups, ensuring improved optical performance. All optical elements have Canon's Super Spectra coating to reduce ghosting and flare. A new Fluorine Coating on the front and rear elements makes marks, such as spots left by water or fingerprints, much easier to clean than standard Canon EF 100-400mmL II + EF 2x III Extender on the Canon EOS R6 camera. The EF 1.4x III and EF 2x III Extenders were redesigned "from the ground up" according to Canon. They're stronger internally and have more screws holding them together. The microprocessor inside has been updated as well as the coatings on the glass elements. 6D + EF 100-400mmL II + EF 2x III Extender (Live View used for focus) - A different pic. 6D + EF 100-400mmL II + EF 2x III Extender (Live View used for focus) 6D + EF 100-400L II + ED 2x III Extender (Live View used for focus). Your needs might really dictate a need for f/2.8 for your photography. Especially if you like low light photography. Here is a link to some samples of mine using the Sigma 150-500mm Sport with the Canon 1.4x III converter on the R5. The autofocus with this combination works much better on the R5 than it does on my 5D IV or 7D II. Bob. I'm using a Canon 70-200mm 2.8 with my 30D shooting my kid's football and baseball games. I am considering purchasing a Canon Tele 2X extender. Will this make a difference in getting in closer for a tighter shot from sidelines? Will there be any distortion? What's the difference between the EF 2X II and the EF 2X III? Thanks.
