(0 of 4) - The Cursed Ruins is a high-level dungeon and even though you might receive the quest early in the game, you likely will not do this quest for quite a while until your party is ready.

I forgot to mention that magic is very dependent on wells. If there are no wells on the map, magic becomes substantially less useful, as mysticisym is a shitty skill to use a slot on. However, if you are or can conquer a dungeon town, get the mana vortex as its a better well, restoring your spell points and multiplying them by 2.
Diplomacy is a secondary skill, that increases the chance wandering creatures will offer to join the hero's army and lowers the cost of surrendering to another hero. Additionally, Diplomacy enables hero to learn primary skills from Library of Enlightenment earlier than experience level 10. With Basic Diplomacy the hero has to be at least on level 8, with Advanced Diplomacy on level 6 and with

Purchase the dungeon hero, and give Mutare all troops except for one hag. Ore is west and wood is east along the path, Mutare should claim one while the other hero claims the other. Day 2

Dungeon by far. Mana vortex is my favourite building, as I usually lean heavily towards magic, than might. Second favourite is maybe fortress. When I was a kid, I hated fortress, and this was the main reason why I decided once to perfect my strategies with it. Now it's one of my most liked towns.
